Key Laboratory of Biomedical Polymers (KLBMP) of the Ministry of Education, Wuhan University, Wuhan, China: Authorized by the Ministry of Education (P. R. China), the Laboratory of Biomedical Polymers (LBMP) of the Ministry of Education was established at Wuhan University in December 1993, and was approved to upgrade to Key Laboratory of Biomedical Polymers (KLBMP) of the Ministry of Education in September 2003. The research areas of KLBMP span the breadth of biomedical polymers. Research areas covered include polymers for gene delivery, polymers for drug controlled release, polymers for tissue engineering, nano-biomaterials, and functional biomedical polymers. Under guidance of Professor Renxi Zhuo(Academician of CAS), LBMP has received many awards that received include National Natural Science Awards (Third Prize in 1999 and Fourth Prize in 1991), Science and Technology Progress Awards from the Ministry of Education (First Prizes in 1999 and 1991), and Natural Science Award of Hubei Province (First Prize in 2006).
